Unite for a Cause, Support Our Schools’ Terry Fox School Runs!

Canadian Rockies Public Schools (CRPS) is thrilled to announce its upcoming Terry Fox School Runs, a cherished tradition that embodies the spirit of determination, community, and hope. This year, students and staff will lace up their running shoes and join in a series of inspiring events, celebrating the legacy of a Canadian hero while making a difference in their own communities. 

In preparation for the runs, CRPS schools are buzzing with excitement, organizing various activities and initiatives to engage the entire school community. Students are gearing up through classroom discussions about Terry Fox's inspiring journey, with most all schools collecting donations to support cancer research. These activities help reinforce the core values of courage and compassion that Terry Fox exemplified, encouraging students to embrace these values in their daily lives.

Your support can make a significant impact. Help our schools contribute to cancer research and support Terry Fox’s enduring legacy. Dates of each school’s run and their Terry Fox Foundation donation link are:

• Alpenglow School: Sept. 19 for Kindergarten, beginning at 10:40 a.m. and Sept. 20 for Gr. 1-6 at 10:45 a.m. .
• Banff Elementary School: Sept. 20, starting at 9:30 a.m. with an assembly followed by runs for grades 1 - 8.
• Banff Community High School: Sept. 27, starting at 10 a.m. with an assembly followed by the run at 10:30 a.m.
• Canmore Collegiate High School: Sept. 27, with the entire school community joining in the run at 11 a.m.
• Elizabeth Rummel School: Sept. 24, featuring an assembly at 9 a.m. and running activities beginning at 10:30 a.m.
• Exshaw School: Sept. 20, starting at 10:45 a.m. with an assembly in the gym followed by a scenic run around the creek.
• Lawrence Grassi Middle School: Sept. 20, starting at 9:30 a.m. with the school collecting toonies the week of Sept. 16 to 20 or families can donate online
