Winterfest – An Old Fashion Celebration of the Season

Alpenglow School invites the community to embrace the spirit of the season at ‘Winterfest,’ Dec. 2, running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school. This 'old fashioned celebration of the season' is a free, family-friendly event that promises a day filled with winter magic and joy. Wander through a transformed winter wonderland, where every corner brings childhood wonder to life. Highlights include the enchanting 'Wishing Well', the delightful 'Cookie Cave', and captivating puppet stories that will mesmerize all ages. Savor the flavors of winter with Mountain Fire Foods and find unique, handcrafted gifts at the Artisan Marketplace. Winter Concert

Alpenglow School will host an enchanting Winter Concert, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m. in the Canmore Collegiate High School theatre. A highlight for Alpenglow families and friends, this annual event will feature an array of performances, showcasing the talents of its students. A special treat this year is the Gr. 5/6 class's play, anticipated to be a heartwarming and memorable performance. The concert promises an evening of joyous melodies and community spirit. Banff Schools

BES & BCHS Holiday Concert

Banff's spirit of community and celebration will shine bright this holiday season with a 'Banff Schools Holiday Concert' on Dec. 13, 2023. Students from Banff Elementary School (BES) and Banff Community High School (BCHS) will unite to present a heartwarming repertoire of seasonal music. This collaborative production, featuring both song and instrumental performances, promises to fill the Jenny Belzberg Theatre at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity with a testament to the vibrant, artistic talents of Banff's youth. The evening will host two performances: Gr. 1-12 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., followed by Gr. 2-12 from 7-8 p.m. Tickets will be available through the Theatre’s box office. Athletic Awards Assembly

Join Banff Community High School (BCHS) on Nov. 29, 11 a.m. to 12 noon, for a celebration of athletic excellence and community spirit in the gym. This first of three awards assemblies will honor the achievements of BCHS's golf, cross-country, and volleyball teams. Witness the pride as community coaches present awards to the school’s dedicated student athletes. Following the assembly is a much-anticipated annual volleyball match, where the Grade 12 team faces off against the BCHS All Stars Staff and Coaches team—a tradition that embodies the school's commitment to teamwork and community. Winter Melodies

Mark your calendars for the heartwarming Winter Musical Concerts at Lawrence Grassi Middle School (LGMS). On Dec. 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Gr. 5 and 6 students will shine in the spotlight, followed on Dec. 13 by Gr. 2 and 3 students from Elizabeth Rummel School joining LGMS’s Grade 4 students for an enchanting evening of festive tunes. CCHS Presents Aladdin JR.

Canmore Collegiate High School's (CCHS) newly renovated theatre is set to come alive with the enchantment of Disney’s Aladdin JR., from Dec. 14 - 16 at 7 p.m., and a special matinee on Dec. 16 at 1:30 p.m. This dazzling 60-minute musical, based on the beloved 1992 film and its 2014 Broadway adaptation, features a talented cast of 38 students. Directed by Sabrina Grecu, Jodi Anderson, and Heather Jean Jordan, the show promises a magical journey with Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Genie. Audiences will be treated to classic hits like “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me,” along with new songs from the Broadway production. CCHS Winter Concert

In collaboration with the Division's Right from the Start team, LGMS will host a Fun Fair in the gym, showcasing a delightful array of carnival-style games. These games, creatively designed by older students, are not just for play—they're a testament to student leadership and ingenuity.
