Alpenglow School

Nature Immersion with Braeden Kelly

On May 3, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., Alpenglow School's Gr. 1 to 3 students will engage in an enriching outdoor learning experience. Led by Braeden Kelly from CRPS’ Outdoor Learning Centre, along with Chandi Obrien and Megan Cowan, the event is designed to integrate Alberta's science curriculum with practical, hands-on activities that explore living systems. Alpenglow Students Embrace Djembe Drumming Circles

Under the guidance of volunteer music specialist Vern Roth and teacher Maureen Fraser, Alpenglow students will delve into the world of Djembe drums on May 16. Led by Roth, students will explore fundamental elements of music, including rhythm and expression. This interactive session fosters collaboration as students come together to showcase their evolving musical abilities and creativity. Through the power of drumming, students will connect not only with the beats but also with each other, engaging their hands, hearts, and minds in a harmonious rhythm at Alpenglow School. Banff Schools

Celebrate Early – National Indigenous People’s Day

Banff Community High School (BCHS) students and staff, along with Banff Elementary School Gr. 7 & 8 students, will attend a special assembly to celebrate National Indigenous People's Day on May 24 at 10 a.m. This event is being held in advance of the official June 21 observance due to BCHS exam schedules. Open to parents and community members, the event promises to be a day of learning, respect, and cultural enrichment, highlighted by the esteemed presence of the Stoney Nakoda Knowledge Keepers. May School Spring Dance & Social

Lawrence Grassi Middle School (LGMS) is rolling out the red carpet for its annual Spring Dance & Social on May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the LGMS gym. Designed for Gr. 7 and 8 students to dance the night away, make new friends, and strengthen ties with their school community, the event is a celebration of youth, friendship, and the spirited life of middle school.
