BCHS Bears' Basketball Showdown

The BCHS gymnasium is set to roar with excitement from Feb. 9 to 10 as the Senior Boys Basketball team hosts their home tournament. This high-energy event, spearheaded by Ian Higginbottom, invites the community, students, and parents to witness the BCHS Bears in action. Competing against top teams from across southern Alberta, the Bears will showcase their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Canadian Rockies Outdoor Centre

Empowering Adventure: Avalanche Skills Training for Grade 10 Students

Canadian Rockies Public Schools, in collaboration with the Wim and Nancy Pauw Foundation, is thrilled to offer a unique and empowering opportunity to all Grade 10 students. From Feb. 5-14, 2024, students will embark on an Avalanche Skills Training Level 1 (AST 1) Certification course, a key component of the Outdoor Learning Centre’s (OLC) WimWe program. This invaluable experience, made possible by the generous support of the Wim and Nancy Pauw Foundation, equips students with essential avalanche safety skills. Classroom sessions will be held at Canmore Collegiate and Banff Community High Schools, followed by practical field days at Lake Louise Ski Resort. This program, offered at no cost to students, not only enhances their outdoor learning but also fosters a deeper connection with the natural world.
